EVANSVILLE — Life in an Evansville mobile home park was upended Wednesday afternoon when, according to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, a gunman shot and killed one person.
The shooting, which was reported to authorities by a 911 caller, took place in the 5900 block of Maggie Valley Drive, according to Evansville-Vanderburgh Central Dispatch.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting were not immediately known. Dispatch confirmed there was still a large law enforcement presence in the area as of 4:30 p.m.
Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Wedding said a cause of death has not been issued yet regarding the deceased individual. Wedding also said authorities are "interviewing a person," but they have not positively identified them as a suspect.
